Barnfield
Barnfield Sixth Form Village offers distinctive living arrangements for Sixth Form pupils, providing them with an exceptional opportunity to cultivate independence and self-reliance in preparation for life beyond Abbotsholme.
Sixth Form pupils reside in a close-knit community within well equipped log cabins, allowing them to take responsibility for themselves and their living environment. Barnfield is a mixed house, with six pupils of the same gender in each cabin. Our pupils establish strong and lasting friendships, learn to support and appreciate one another, while sharing personal goals and celebrating the success of others.
Barnfield boarders have numerous opportunities to engage in extra-curricular activities alongside their academic studies. Boarders benefit from extended access to sports, music, art, and library facilities, as well as a variety of external trips, including outings to Alton Towers, cultural city explorations, cinema visits, bowling, and meals at local restaurants.
A resident staff member is always available, but we encourage independence, believing that this development is crucial for preparing our young people not just for university, but more importantly, for life itself. Boarders enjoy a balance of independence and responsibility while remaining under supportive pastoral care Abbotsholme offers all pupils.
